Zoë's First Loose Tooth

Zoë has been so distraught that Abby has a loose tooth and she doesn't, so every night before bed, when we're brushing teeth, I check her bottom front teeth.  Tonight, exactly one month before she turns 6,  I noticed that her bottom front right tooth (same as Abby's) is just the slightest bit loose.  That was enough for her, she was thrilled!  She shouted to Abby and Abby came rushing in and said, "I'm so happy for you, Zoë!"  Zoë told me that she was going to have a great nights sleep and was already trying to decide who she'd call and tell about it tomorrow.

Abby's Loose Tooth

We discovered today that Abby has her first loose tooth!  I handed out pretzels for snack and when Abby bit into hers she yelped in pain.  She said that it hurt one of her bottom teeth, one of the ones that she predicted would fall out this month.  I checked her mouth and low and behold her bottom right front tooth is wiggly.

Enzo's Third Tooth

Enzo's third tooth has just broken through the gums.  It's his left (looking at him it's on the right) top front tooth - central incisor.  It's been much easier to watch the progress of this one, as I can see it any time I lie him down for a diaper change.  Though the entire tooth isn't fully down, you can plainly see the bottom of the tooth all the way through the gums now.

Enzo's Second Tooth

Sometime over the weekend Enzo's second tooth, right beside the first one, broke through the gums.  I noticed it today, just a little above his gums.

Enzo's First Tooth

After months of me saying that I thought Enzo's tooth were going to be coming, alas he's getting his first one.  A few days ago I wondered if one was breaking through as that spot on his gums looked especially red.  I didn't say anything though because I've said this so many times.  This morning I also thought to myself when I caught a glimpse inside Enzo's mouth, that his tooth was breaking through the gums and started to say something to Chris but then decided, never mind, I'm not even going to say it.

Well, at lunch Corey asked if Enzo had any teeth and I said that he had none but that I thought he may be getting one soon and felt in his mouth to try and show him where, and sure enough I felt the tooth just broken through the gums!  I think this explains the super runny nose and extra crankiness and sleepiness.  I don't care what the doctors tell me, the girls got at least a little cold if not a low grade fever whenever they had teeth cutting through the gums.  It is the bottom front, his right.

Dentist Day

Abby and Zoë had appointments at the dentist today.  When we got there, the hygienist was all ready for us before we even signed in.  Zoë reluctantly went first.  She just sat with her mouth open wide, not talking at all.  When she was supposed to choose which flavor tooth cleaner she wanted, she whispered in my ear for me to choose.  She did really, really well and when it came time for the 'tooth vitamins' (aka fluoride treatment) the hygienist decided to use the mouth trays instead of 'painting' it on like previously done.  When Zoë was getting finished up and waiting for Dr. Fishbein to come check her out, they had Abby go to the next 'room' over.

Abby was all about choosing her flavors for everything and did super well also, and she too got the mouth trays.  While Abby was having her turn, Zoë was just talking up a storm, ready to tell the other helper about anything and everything... no such thing as privacy about your home life when you have a four year old, or two.  Both of the girls chose  pencils as their prizes and each got new toothbrushes as well.

We went over to Wal-Mart for a couple of things after the appointment, and saw a section of very on sale shoes.  There were some dress shoes in Abby and Zoë's sizes, with little heels but nothing too high.  We let the girls try some on and ended up getting them each a pair.  They were both on sale for $7.00, one pair was down from $10 something and the other down from $9 and something.  There were a really cute pair that were only $4, but they didn't have a strap around the ankle area so we figured they'd have too difficult a time walking in them, even in a couple of months when they can actually start wearing them.  Zoë and Abby were ecstatic about getting "high heels".

What won't they think of next.  ..teeth trays!!!Aunt Elizabeth and I went to the dentist together, we were in different rooms getting our teeth cleaned. She was just talking away, giving up all our family secrets. I yelled over to her and said " you don't have to tell Dr. Rupp everything we do" Everyone laughed!!

Second Molar for Abby and Zoe

For a while now both girls have been digging at their back gums and trying to chew on things back there.  Today after school when Chris was getting ready to get Abby a gummy bear, he was checking out her mouth and as I came in the door with Zoe he said "Hey, she has a new tooth!"  It is her bottom right second molar, it's not fully in yet but probably about halfway.  We checked Zoe next and sure enough, her bottom left second molar is about halfway through.  They must've both erupted in about the last five to seven days, because I've been checking their mouths periodically when we brush teeth.  The chewing and excess saliva seem to be the only signs because they haven't been complainging about their mouths hurting them... so much nicer than the previous teeth.

A new tooth?

Abby has been digging at her mouth, chewing on her finger way in the back of the left side of her mouth.  She also has a ton of extra saliva.  I'm constantly reminding her to swallow instead of just letting all the saliva drool out, or blowing bubbles with it.  I keep looking at the gums way in the back on both of the girls to see if I can see anything happening.  There aren't any teeth poking through yet, but I'm think Abby has to have one of her next molars coming in.  (The one's we were told wouldn't get here until 36 months)

Zoë's first bite

Laura has been bitten by Abby before and I never understood why until today.  Zoë and I were wrestling and giggling in the play yard, when I felt a little nibble attack on my shoulder.  The nibble turned into a very strong bite.  She almost broke skin underneath my t-shirt.  I yulped and she stopped.  Wrestle time was over.  Later we had some quiet time cuddling to cool things down.

Teeth 10 and 11 for Abby

I've been keeping an eye on Abby's bottom jaw on the right side.  Today I saw and felt two new teeth just erupting.  Her bottom right lateral insicor and her bottom right first molar have just made their appearance.

Teeth Nine and Ten

I've been checking more often to see if Abby and Zoë are getting more teeth.  Sure enough, Zoë has just sprouted two more.  Her bottome right lateral incisor just broke through her gums a few days ago.  Her top left first molar has also just broken through the gums.

Corn on the Cob

The girls have been getting teeth so quickly, check out the baby teeth charts on the side bar.  Since they have their tops and bottoms I thought it would be nice to get some fresh corn on the cob for them to try.  They loved it.  I put little corn handles on small junks of sweet corn for them and they gnawed on the corn for a good while.  It was so funny to watch them work the corn from the cob.

Back Teeth!

While I was changing Abby's diaper this afternoon I saw something in between her gums.  I reach my finger in to try and fish it out, only to find it was a new top tooth.  I looked on the other side, and sure enough she had one over there as well.  I was so surprised, because I hadn't noticed them coming in.  They are both through her gums and have grown down a bit already.  I, of course, checked Zoë's mouth after this finding.  She too has a new top back tooth.  Just on the right side for her, I didn't feel one coming in yet on the left.  I found a chart online to try and figure out which teeth these are, since they seem much farther back than the rest of their teeth.  I think that they are the first top molars, which usually come in around 14 months.  I didn't feel any new teeth on the bottom, but with the way teeth are popping up around here, it will probably not be too long.

Another Tooth for Zoë

This morning while brushing Zoë's teeth, I noticed another bottom tooth. The girls' bottom gums haven't seen much action in quite a while. The new tooth is just to the left of her two front teeth. This makes tooth number seven for her. It is already poking out further than her 6th tooth, which I noticed up top a while ago, that is still just barely broken through. She has been a little more fussy than usual the past couple of days, it must have been that her tooth was just really working its way up quickly.

Sixth Tooth for Zoë

Along with Abby's tooth I noticed that the same tooth for Zoë is just breaking through the gums. As long as her teeth come in quickly, her and Abby will have all of the same teeth at the same time.

Zoë's Fifth Tooth

Zoë is once again catching up to Abby. Her third top tooth has just broken through the surface of her gums in the past couple of days. As long as this tooth comes down quicker than her second top tooth, she should be even with Abby in no time.

5th Tooth Update

We noticed today that Abby has her fifth tooth coming through. It has just broken through the gums, and it is a top tooth, next to her front teeth. This could explain why she has been waking up during the night lately.

Zoë's Fourth Tooth

Zoë's fourth tooth has finally emerged fully from her gums. It has taken so long for this tooth to appear. We expected to see this tooth much sooner after her first top tooth. I have been able to see it under the gums for a while now. A couple of days ago I noticed that a good part of it had broken through the gums, today all of it is through!
