Halloween Photo Session

We received Abby and Zoë's Halloween photos from Wal-Mart today. It took forever for them to develop the prints, since October 26th. These are the photos that led to our in house photo production.

Love your costumes!!! You two are the sweetest!!

Christmas Photo Session

Today we tried to get the girls to sit still long enough for a Christmas photo card. We no longer pay outrageous prices for professional photos, so we are doing them ourselves. We bought a few yards of Christmas patterned fabric, and placed the girls in front of it. All in all I think the photos came out well enough. We selected these nine photos for the online album. We had sent a couple to Wal-Mart to see how the photo Christmas cards will come out. We will post the proofs when we get them back, which is estimated around 11/25. We hope to have the best pick printed and out in time for Christmas.

Nanny Returns

Last night my friend Jen, the "Nanny", arrived to spend the night after she realized she had the day off today. Abby and Zoë were quite polite and slept quietly until after 7a.m. We had the typical morning routine and then the girls had their monthly physical therapy at 11:00a.m. - There are still a few things we are working on with them, but they are catching up to their age bracket quickly.- After their session was done we all went out for a walk. Once we had picked up the post office mail we walked to the Gas Light for lunch. Zoë and Abby ate their lunch with us and then had their naps once we got back to the house. While they were napping we heated up the Fry Daddy and tried our hand at more doughnuts and some fried ice cream. Auntie Reanna stopped by just in time to try out the finished product. It was a nice day of visiting and the girls’ didn't want to go to bed this evening and have it end.

Lunch on the NH Coast

It was a bit chilly today, but wonderfully sunny. We decided to get some lunch and eat at the beach. Once Chris and I finished our sandwiches we took Abby and Zoë onto the rocky beach to eat their lunch. After Zoë was done nursing Chris took her down close to the water. Once Abby finished eating it was her turn to go out onto the rocks with Daddy. They were both all smiles staring at the seagulls and looking around at the water, boats, and anything else they could see. They seemed to love the cool sea breeze on their faces.

Eight Month Photos

I took Abby and Zoë to "The Picture People" in the mall today for some photos. They took some of the girls together and a few separate. They came out pretty well, but were ridiculously priced, so we ended up just taking our free 8x10. Next time we will go somewhere we can get lots of pictures for a good price. After we came home I took some myself... not quite as nice, but free. As for sizes, they are around 13 pounds and close to 26 inches. They are still in 3-6 month clothes, but are slowly starting to wear some 6-9 month outfits. Their next check-up will be in September so we will know size stats then.

Post Office and Park

The girls went for their walk into town to check the Post Office box. No mail yet. They had a late lunch in the park and then relaxed on their blanket.

UnOffical CA party

Today we went to Somersworth, NH for an unofficial CA work party. The official yearly party/picnic is at Canobie Lake Park on August 28th in Salem, NH. Abby and Zoë had a great time at this get together. They were all smiles. I even had a chance to dip Zoë's toes in the pool. She really wanted to go down the slide like the other kids, but we do not have bathing suits for them yet. We have looked, but nothing really fit them, not even the smallest little swimmers diapers.

What another great picture.
Can't wait to get my seeds. I will plant them in the front of the house, so I can see them when I go out and when I come in. I will give them lots of TLC and hug them and kiss them and call them Abby and Zoë.

Playtime with Sissy

During one of their feedings, I held Zoë by Abby's chair so that they could look at each other. They were babbling to each other, smiling and laughing. They were reaching out to touch each other and having a great time. Zoë even got a taste of Abby's finger.

Tummies and Tushies

Abby and Zoë have been getting themselves on their stomachs constantly the past few days. We could have just turned them over to their backs and just as we walk away they are on their tummies again. Abby got herself onto her stomach while sleeping in her playpen today, without waking herself. I decided to let her stay that way since I was in the room. I went upstairs to get Zoë and when I came back down, she had her little tush in the air, sleeping away. Zoë's new favorite thing to do is wait until I have her diaper off of her for a change, put both legs straight up in the air, and roll. From there she gets onto her tummy, all in a matter of seconds. These two are too funny!

Walk in the park with our Nanny

Our Nanny stopped by today to help Laura out with some feedings. Then we went downtown for a walk through the park with the girls in snuglis. The girls were face forward, although you can't tell with Zoë in the first photo.

Weeding the driveway?

Laura took the girls outside in their chairs today, so they could enjoy the fresh air. The sky was overcast, and the UV index was very low. Laura was weeding the flowerbeds and driveway while the girls played with their activity bars. We have had a lot of rain so it was overgrown.

Odiorne Point Mosquitoes

Today we went to Odiorne Point state park with the girls. They were in their stroller with the bug net. There were plenty of mosquitoes buzzing around. Laura got a few bites. We killed quite a bit of mosquitoes that flew into the net, but I don't think the girls got bit. The paths were so rocky that the girls were quite jostled. I can’t believe they slept through that ordeal.

You sure are a hot mama Laura! :) Those pictures of you pushing the girls through the rough terrain are so funny! You can tell what outings Chris went on because those postings have lots of pictures. There's nothing wrong with being camera happy. :)

I love how Laura seems to be pushing the stroller through rough terrain and thickets while Chris just strolls along on the paved path...thats ok, I hear he killed most of the mosquitos ;-)

Street hiking

When Chris told me that town was just a short walk down the road, I didn't know how "down" he meant. I hadn't envisioned the double stroller being a hiking stroller on this trip. The way down wasn't so bad, (unless I tried to take the even rockier, steeper, higher up sidewalk) but going up, pushing both girls in the double stroller with all of our gear was a bit taxing. The third day here we stayed inside since it was a bit rainy outside. Today we braved the hill again. It wasn't as bad as the first time, due to the fact that it was about 20 degrees cooler. Although it was still a work-out.

The picture does not do the hill justice. It was very steep, and long. Laura rarely gets winded or sweaty, and this hill provided both, and a good work-out.

Sleep quarters

Abby and Zoë move so much in their sleep that we decided not to have them sleep together in the playpen. Instead we brought along one of their "sleeping bags" that their great-grandma Ehlers made them. One night Abby would sleep in the playpen and Zoë in the bag on the floor by the bed, then the next they switch. Tonight it was Zoë's turn for the sleeping bag sleeping quarters. Here she is, snoozing peacefully.

Dog sleeper

Last night, while Chris and I were settling in for the night, we heard "scratch scratch scratch" from the playpen. Abby was lying on her side trying to get to sleep, scratching the side of the playpen. It reminded me of when my mom's dog, Tikva would scratch at the rug while sleeping. Chris and I had a good laugh. I guess I've been changing them on the "pooch pad" too often. These babies make some silly noises. We hope to capture some more sounds soon. They are learning to talk, and are very vocal about many issues. Hooting and hollering all the time.

All Talk

Abby and Zoë were lying in the crib together after we had our brush with the storm. I was sitting across the room and heard them both babbling up a storm. I looked over and they were looking at each other, taking turns babbling. It was like they each really knew what the other was saying. They would roll in towards each other, hold hands... it was too cute.
