Back to Bethel

My friend Angie, who works at Bethel School where we used to go, said I could bring Abby and Zoë in a couple of mornings a week to socialize with her class and get playground time, as long as I stayed with them, so we went ahead and went in this morning.

Abby and Zoë got a few minutes of "centers" time and then did music, where they were very excited to be singing a song that included tapping their shoes, because they wore their sparkly ballet shoes. Next some of the kids worked on letter M papers, while others started an art project of getting their whole bodies traced. After the kids were done with their letter papers, I helped the ones who were waiting for the tracing, to write about pictures they drew of things they like. (September is "all about me" theme for them) Zoë said she was drawing her "spots" doggy. Abby drew a picture that looked like a person with curly hair and then a box below and then pink dots all around, never did get out of her what it was all about. After this it was time to go out on the playground. Abby and Zoë had a blast swinging and climbing and sliding and playing with the other kids. We changed shoes before going outside, but the girls were bummed when I didn't change them back after they were done on the playground. After playground time, the girls and I went home for lunch as the other kids were going inside to eat theirs.

While there, Miss Angie told me that they need a teacher downstairs in preschool on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12-4:30 and that if I did it until they found someone permanent, the girls could go for free. Also, on those days I could come in a little earlier, just as a parent with the girls if I wanted to so that Abby and Zoë could get some play time in before lunch and nap. I told them that I would do it, and will go in on Friday to start.
