Recovery Day Six

Zoë started things off interestingly this morning.  I was making a special request order of french toast and Zoë was sitting on the floor in the kitchen.  She was a bit whiney and then all of the sudden she got sick on the floor.  I scooped her up and held her over the sink and she finished pretty quickly.  After getting cleaned up and some small sips of water, she was all better.  Her mood was fantastic in fact.  I'm not sure how much of her medicine came up, but she seemed to be alright pain wise.  She ate most of her french toast pieces, little bits at a time, and was using manners left and right.  Before that her and Abby were both falling asleep on the couch, after just getting up.  Zoë decided to take her food into the living room, where Abby was watching Sleeping Beauty, or actually trying to keep her eyes open to watch it.

Today was a pretty sleepy day.  There were periods of play, but more sleeping today than anything.  Both of the girls were sleepy this morning, especially Abby, who went back to bed and slept for a while after the movie.  They also got very hungry around lunch time.  Abby finished her plate of french toast, then both girls had some cheerios soaked in soy milk, then shortly after getting down from the table they were begging me to make them a little pizza like I'd made Daddy.  I made one with a soft fluffy crust and the girls shared that and then both ate a swiss roll.  Then it was down for a nap.  Abby needed a little help going to sleep, Zoë went out on her own, but then they both slept for a long time.

Not big appetites for dinner, just a small amount of mac 'n cheese and later some soy milk, but they were very thirsty.  I was making myself a housework chart/calendar and while I was doing this Abby wanted to write with a pencil, then of course Zoë did too.  Abby drew a great picture of our house, with me standing next to it (Complete with shoes, earrings, a dress, and beautiful circle eyes and a nose - she also draws chins on her people) Then next to me there was a picture of what started out as a popsicle that she wrote 10's and 11's inside, then she drew the mailbox next to me.  (Her and I went out to check the mail and for a walk around the block earlier this evening) I could tell what everything was, and the house was great with square windows and a rectangle door with a circle knob.  Her drawing is really progressing.  Both girls then wanted lots of instruction on writing things.  Zoë needed some help with the letters of her name, she has gotten into the phase of writing some letters backwards - I think part of her struggles might be trying to write the letters out the way I model but trying to do it with her left hand.  I'll have to figure out something better there I guess, for my little lefty.  Then Abby wanted me to write the tracing letters for her too and was writing Zoë's name all over her own paper.  They got a late night spurt of writing interest.  Until a crash, which prompted the bed time ritual to begin.

I looked with a flashlight at each of the girls throats tonight... definitely still a lot of recovery needing to happen in there.
