New Chore List

Chris and I were talking recently about chores and allowance and all of that stuff.  We decided to first get a chore list and expectations together for the girls, and have them get used to having specific things to do each day for a while before we introduce allowance.  Ultimately, I do not want chores tied to allowance, but right now there aren't that many 'extra' things a four year can do to earn money besides household stuff.  So, I put together a list of the girls responsibilities and family jobs - things they are expected to do just because they're a part of the family.  And then I put together a chore chart.  As they get older, the chores will evolve and certain chores will move from the chore list, to being something they do just because they live in the house, and then more difficult tasks will take their place.  So for now, here's what it all looks like:

Everyday responsibilites:
- Cleaning up after themselves, which includes: Folding their pj's in the morning and clothes in the evening and putting them away, Making their beds, Clearing their place at the table, Putting things away when they're done using them, and Cleaning up any messes they make.

- Being considerate and respectful to other family members

Family jobs:
- Helping to fold the laundry and putting theirs away

- Helping to put away the groceries

Chores look like this:
Monday:
Zoë gathers the bathroom and bedroom trash in the evening
Abby is the dishes helper (dries the dishes and puts away utensils)
Tuesday:
Zoë is dishes helper
Abby is crumb cleaner (sweeps and/or dust busts the crumbs under the table after meals)
Wednesday:
Zoë sweeps the porch (if it's raining she can sweep something inside)
Abby is dinner helper.
Thursday:
Zoë is crumb cleaner
Abby is dishes helper again
Friday:
Zoë is dishes helper again
Abby gathers the bathroom and bedroom trash
Saturday:
Zoë is dinner helper
Abby sweeps the porch
Sunday:
They get a day off :)

Both of the girls were super excited to start their chores today.  I have their responsibility/Family Jobs posted right above their chore chart, where they can check off the day after they've completed their job.

Abby @ 4 years, 6 months, 1 day
Zoë @ 4 years, 6 months, 1 day
Enzo expected in 3 months, 8 days
