One Whole Week
We're running out of logical consequences around here. Having two not-quite-six year olds in the house is proving to come with its share of testing and rule breaking, etc. etc. etc. Finally, today after the girls were irresponsible in the play room I took it away for a week, along with anything inside the playroom (usually it's a day). Since their clothes are in the bureau in there, I told them that it also meant I'd be picking out their clothes for them during that time. They weren't pleased at all, but went right to the calendar and realized that at least they'd get to pick out their own clothes and play in the playroom on Thanksgiving.
Later on both of the girls got reprimanded for one thing or another and Chris decided to tell them that they wouldn't be able to get candy for the rest of the day. (Usually they get a piece or two during the day) Then they were sassy and giggling about getting into trouble and it led to no candy for a week... Zoë then proceeded to lose it for the rest of November.
I contemplated not writing about these goings-on but decided that I'd like for the girls to look back (and us) and see how they've grown in their behavior and way down the road it might be funny for them to see how much trouble they really could cause.
