We have been conserving water since our last water bill.  You can read about it in the Water Conservation post from February 17th, 2006.  We just received the bill this weekend and our efforts have paid off.  We only used 14 units of water compared to the 23 units during the last period.  That was 126.5 gallons of water per day.  This period consisted of 120 days and we used 10,472 gallons.  While I still think this is way too much water usage, this is about 7,000 gallons saved over this period.  I think the number of units must be an estimate, as the bill is for water usage up until 5/31/2006, which was about 10 days away when we got the bill.  In either case, this is a savings of almost 40 gallons of water per day.  We are averaging about 87 gallons of water usage a day, down from 126.5 gallons per day.  We cut our water usage by 45%.  I am hoping we can continue this trend and drop this water usage even more.
