Zoë Braves the Diving Board

After a nice dinner of (home made) vegetable korma we went to the last family swim time for the first time.  It's from 6:30 to 7:30p.m. so it meant getting ready for bed as soon as we were home.  When we got there, the pool was completely empty.  The life guard on duty was really nice and he encouraged the girls with their swimming and jumping from the diving board.  Still Zoë was scared and went out and back three times before we just put her bubble back on and had her swim.  Upon her request I even handed Enzo off to Chris, went off the diving board myself, and then waited there to catch her.  (Although I must say, standing on the diving board I can see why she was intimidated, it's a much different perspective from up there)

Enzo only lasted half of the swim time (30 minutes) so he and I went and got showered off and dressed.  When I peeked my head out to see if the girls were ready to do the same, Chris told me to come out with the stroller because Zoë had gone off of the diving board!  Sure enough, she showed me how she walked out and jumped right off - twice for me - no hesitation.  Abby still hesitates and has to get herself all ready, though that may just be because she tries so hard to cannonball!  Zoë was super proud and kept telling me how fun the diving board is and how glad she is that she made the jump.  Then she said, "Mommy, I'm proud of myself.  Are you proud of me?"
