First Month at the YMCA

We are enjoying our Nonna sponsored month at the YMCA.  We have been swimming 3 to 4 times each week.  We alternate who stays out with Enzo if he isn't going in on that particular visit.  The girls are enjoying the water and are very comfortable swimming.  They are learning so much and making great progress.  Just in this month alone, they learned to swim by themselves without any help or flotation device.  They also got up the courage to jump off the diving board, now they do it many times each visit.  They are turning into little dolphins.  So how did it all work out this month.  With the sign up fee of $75 and the monthly fee of $67, we have an out of pocket expense of $142.  We went 17 times this month, so that works out to about $8.35 per visit, which isn't terrible.  The community outdoor pool is $1 per person, so it would have cost us at least $85.  The per person price we paid to enjoy the YMCA was $1.67.  Next month, when we spread the cost of the association fee over two months, these prices will drop.  If we only go to another 17 swims next month, our visit cost will be reduced to $6.14 and the per person cost down to $1.23.  I would like to see our per person average below a dollar, at this attendance rate, 17 visits a month, it will be August when the cost per person per visit is below a dollar.  Adding 3 more visits each month, we will be below a dollar per visit starting June and if we attend 25 times in May, we will have reduced to total per person visit cost to $1.00.  I am sure the girls won't mind.  They love going to the pool and it is good exercise too.
